📣 Important: The process for applying for citizenship in Argentina has changed.
With the entry into force of DNU 366/2025, the process to obtain Argentine citizenship by naturalization has been completely transformed.
Now, applications must be submitted to the National Directorate of Migrations, and stricter new requirements are enforced to qualify.

Before
- The process was judicial.
- Only 2 years of residency were required.
- Precarious residency was accepted.

- There was only one pathway.
Now
- It is now managed by the National Directorate of Migrations.
- Continuous actual residency is now required.
- Precarious residency is no longer valid.
- Criminal and security background checks are now conducted.
- The option for citizenship through significant investment has been incorporated.

Foreign adults who:
- Live in Argentina continuously and legally.
- Have no criminal record.
- Demonstrate genuine and stable residency, not precarious or sporadic.
- This also applies to those who make a significant investment in the country.
And what if you have already started the judicial process?
If you have already started your judicial process:
